Hey guys! I'm Emma. I am not new to tumblr, however this is a new blog dedicated to makeup primarily, with the occasional post of hair, nails, clothing, accessories, products, piercings tattoos, etc. I am no professional however I have years of practice and a bit of talent. I am planning on going to cosmetology school in the near future and my plan is to do something cool with makeup one day. I see makeup as an art (as cliche as that sounds), and I am pretty passionate about it. Feel free to look around, watch my videos, be inspired by my pictures, and don't be afraid to ask me anything:)

I am fully prepared to get my opinion out there and lose followers, I need to say this. I have gotten some messages in the past few months about being a vegan and preaching to me. Telling me how i’m wrong for not being a vegan or a vegetarian. I’ve been told to stop acting like a hippie because I don’t actually care about animals. Well, that’s my personal choice. Respect it or don’t expect me to respect your opinion. Also, I never said I was a hippie. The music and fashion choices along with my morals are similar to that of a ‘hippie’, however i am not a hippie. I am just me.

Anyway, I see veganism as something similar to a religion. You can have a religion, you can be a vegan. Be proud, I’ll respect it. Just don’t go preaching and shoving it down everyone’s throat because that’s not gonna get anything done, and it’s annoying as fucking hell. It’s not like once you tell someone that your opinion is right and theirs is wrong they will automatically just agree. No their opinions are as strong as yours, neither are gonna change. So just give it up already. Anyone who isn’t a vegan either never will be, or will become on of their own accord. That’s how it works, so give it up. You don’t see me bitching to you guys about how you need to start eating meat because my opinion makes more sense than yours. I respect vegans and vegetarians 100% until they start to shove it down my throat.

The reason I choose not to quit eating meat/animal products is because it is natural for humans to eat meat and dairy. I understand that animals are held in captivity and ‘abused’ and whatnot, and I am more against that than anyone seems to understand. If I had it my way I would eat free range animals that at least had a fair chance at life, animals from the wild. But since I live in the year 2012 like everyone else, I don’t have the means to do that. Beyond that, meat and dairy products contain vitamins and such that my body needs. I understand that for the most part I can get those from other things, but like I said, it’s natural. Humans are not herbivores, that’s why are bodies are built the way they are and that’s why we crave meat.

Furthermore, no one is completely vegan. Be careful what you preach and be sure to get your facts straight. There are plenty of non-food things that are made from animals. Let me explain:

  • Do you have a dog or cat? Is your pet a vegan? Didn’t think so since it’s not natural for them.So we can come to the conclusion that you feed your animal non-vegan food.
  • Do you have any tattoos? Did you ask if they used vegan ink before you got the tattoo? No? Chances are you now have ink made with animal product under your skin.
  • Do you ever use plastic grocery bags when you go grocery shopping? Yes? Well you are carrying bags made partially from animal fat.
  • Do you own a car or a bike? Yes? I’m just gonna assume that it has tires on it. Many car and bike tires have animal products in them.
  • Play the violin or piano? Animal glue made from boiling animal connective tissue and bones is a great wood adhesive used for fixing these instruments.
  • Did you watch fireworks this July? Many fireworks use stearic acid which is used to coat metal powders such as aluminum or iron. Some fireworks use animal products, some use plant. Which was used on the fireworks you saw?
  • Do you use fabric softener? Yep, has cattle, sheep, or horse product in it.
  • Many shampoo and conditioners are made with Panthenol, Amino Acids, and Vitamin C. These come from either Plants or Animals. How do you know?
  • Do you use toothpaste? I hope so. Also made with animal product.
  • Ever use white or brown sugar? Purified ash from animal bones is used in filters to refine sugar by some brands.
  • Do you wear makeup? Some brands such as Urban Decay do not use animal products. But many brands including drug store brands use animal products.

I can keep the list going but you probably see my point. That’s called being hypocritical, or perhaps ignorant.

Also, leave me alone about leather products. If I wanna wear suede moccasins or leather boots, it’s my choice. What do you wear, anyway? Rubber shoes? Cause that’s so great for the environment. Unless you’re wearing wooden sandals with strings to keep your feet in place, you’re not doing much better. Oh wait, that would mean a tree would have to be cut down. Guess there’s just no way around it, maybe we’re all bad people. Or maybe we should start using the resources we have because there’s no right way to do things here on earth. No matter what we are either cutting down a tree, killing animals, or harming the environment. No one of those things is better than another. So quit preaching your nonsense and let it be.

But if you really have such a problem with things like animals in captivity, I suggest getting off your skinny vegan ass and go do something about it and put an action to your words and help. Go make progress and protest those animals that are in captivity. Do something. Don’t just sit there and bitch at the non vegans or the non vegetarians over tumblr, because that’s obviously not going to get anything done anyway.

I am terribly sorry that I haven’t posted anything. As I said before my computer mic was broken so I couldn’t make a video tutorial, but now my computer won’t work at all! Anyway I should be getting it fixed soon so I can continue on with this blog, otherwise you may not see me for awhile but I will do my best. Please bear with me, thank you and I love you guys!

Okay, I firmly believe that the dollar store is not all bad. Their makeup is the low of low end makeup but sometimes you can find a hidden gem. And if you don’t, you only wasted a dollar and can return it anyway. For me, I keep the stuff and find something useful for it later. That’s why I keep posting about my trips to the dollar store. I understand that this may be of no help to you guys, but i am on a super budget right now as i am moving in a couple days. Tomorrow and Wednesday I will probably go buy some more makeup from nicer places as a treat. But for now, here is what I picked up:

Just disreguard everything but the makeup items. I am happy about the sponges though, I have used that brand before and they are decent. The three lip products I got from different places, the gloss from sally’s and the lipsticks from CVS.

So here I have some swatches and reviews for you guys. First I did swatches of the L.A. Colors 3 color eyeshadow palette in Lily. It was white, grey, and black, ideally I would use it for a quick and easy smokey eye. This palette was probably my favorite of the 4 L.A. Color palettes that I bought today.

So, obviously the colors aren’t very pigmented. I would definitely use it one day and I’m sure with some Urban Decay Primer Potion it will turn out. I will use it tomorrow and let you guys know.

Next I tried the L.A. Colors 12 color eyeshadow palette in Urban.

As you can see, they are not pigmented at all and barely showed up. This particular palette is very subtle but I know I can make use of it somehow, like on people who prefer lighter makeup.

Next I did swatches of L.A. Colors 12 color eyeshadow palette in Supernatural

This one showed up a lot more, a little bit more pigmented. I will definitely end up using this on my blue eye makeup days:)

Next I did swatches of L.A. Colors 12 color eyeshadow palette in Glamorous.

This one also showed up okay. Again, not very pigmented, but it would work better with some eyeshadow primer and I will probably use it. Out of the three of the 12 colored palettes I will probably end up using glamorous and supernatural sometimes and rarely use the urban.

Next I bought another of the dollar store eyeshadow palettes with no information. I have another that I bought a few days ago if you saw my post. I bought one with different colors today. These are very shimmery eye shadows and I rather like the selection of colors.

These also show up okay. I am content with it for only one dollar, I like how many colors it comes with.

I bought 4 L.A. Colors shimmering loose eyeshadows in white, pink, goldish-copper, and black.

I like these. I have had them before and they work fine for me. I often use the white one for my tear duct if I want something really bright and shimmery. I will try the other colors soon and let you guys know what I think.

After the dollar store I headed over to sally’s because I have never bought makeup there and I wanted to check out their selection. I ended up in the clearance since I am drawn to great deals. I found an orange lipgloss and I have always wanted to try orange just for fun. It was the only orange I had but after trying it on I am not very happy with the color. I will find some use for it but I am gonna buy a lighter orange one day. The brand and shade was Real Colors Lip Fury Plumping gloss in ‘Turn the other chic’

Also, the picture really doesn’t do it justice. It is more orange than that, but you get the idea. One thing I will say is that it is a very pigmented gloss. I was a little but worried that it would be a sheer orange, but it came out nice and bright.

Next I headed over to CVS. I browsed and ended up at wet n’ wild. I love their colors, always have. After buying the orange gloss I decided to buy more lip products since I really need more in my makeup collection. First one I tried on was wet n’ wild megalast lip color in 901B

A nice nude-ish light pink. I liked it, and I love how matte it is. I will definitely be using it. A great color for the summer in my opinion.
Last but not least, I tried on the bright pink. I guess I was in a fun mood today, buying all these bright colors. I picked out the wet n’ wild megalast lip color in 967 dollhouse pink.
I’m sorry. I love it. In all honesty I probably won’t wear it often but I know it will be used. Again, I love that it is matte and it goes on easy. Both were very easy to apply.
Well, that’s it for today, folks! Seeya later!

Ends tomorrow night I think? So hurry up! Shipping is also free after a certain point.

I used the code and if you look at my last post I bought 4 big palettes for $59.45! It was such a steal!!! Especially since e.l.f. is pretty decent quality for what you pay. Honestly, I prefer them to a lot of other drugstore brands such as maybelline, revlon, and wet n’ wild.

Anyway remember the code is EDC2. only for studio line though.

Here is the whole thing, completely organized. I also cleaned out and got rid of some stuff, it seems like so much less.

Here is the top, from left to right:

all of my eyeshadow brushes + a foundation brush & concealer brushes, my little foam shadow applicators, cotton swabs and cotton balls, a mini face brush, face sponges, face brushes for powder, blush, bronzer, etc.

First drawer:

In the front I have all of my mascaras (I am crazy for mascara), in the back left i have all of my liners, in the back right all of my lipsticks, glosses, etc.

Second drawer:

Miscellaneous. I have nail files, brush cleaner, baby powder, makeup remover pads and liquid, setting spray, nail polish, bathsalts (actual bathsalts for a bath), and more. this drawer is pretty much for anything that is not categorized.

third drawer:

eyeshadow, and nothing else. everything from my naked palette to my cheap L.A. colors. yup.

Last but not least, fourth drawer:

face. foundation, blush, bronzer, concealer, primer, moisturizer, tinted moisturizer, etc. lots of random goodies in here..

Well there you have it! A little bit more organized than before but I am moving in a few days so once I get settled in and get some money together I am going to treat myself to some new makeup, and a new place to put that new makeup.

you guys get a treat! this was my entire face today.

Thanks guys. I know it’s not a lot, but it’s a start. And all 17 of you make me really happy.

This is why I hate making a new blog, because it is so hard to start but i’m determined with this one!

Anyway I hope you enjoy my blog and please stick around since I am just starting to get it up and running.

Thank you!

My makeup Today. I used my mini e.l.f. eyeshadow palette in Punk Funk.
I used the white to highlight my brow and in my tear ducts. I used the pink on my lid up to the crease. I used the purple on the brow bone and inner crease and the blue in the outer crease and outer corner. On the bottom I had white in the inner corner, pink then purple in the middle, and blue in the outer corner. Blended it all.
For eyeliner I used my e.l.f. cream eyeliner on the top and in the water line, winged out on the top.
For mascara I used covergirl lashbast length to prime and seperate the lashes, then L’oreal ultra volume collagen mascara to add plenty of volume, then maybelline turbo volume express for even more volume, then sephora outrageous volume mascara.
of course i used urban decay primer potion to prime my eyelids.

Review Time!

Dollar Store Shimmery Eyeshadow Palette.

Well for spending a dollar on it, i’m not disappointed. That probably has something to do with the fact that I used primer with it, but oh well. It worked just fine, and because of the primer the eyeshadow came out looking very pigmented. I only tried out four of the colors but they worked well enough for me to want to try the rest.

The shadows went on nice and easy.

I rate them a 4/5 as far as the dollar store goes, haha. I would buy it again if I was on some sort of major budget and had primer potion to go with it.

For my makeup today I went for a shimmery bronze look.

Pretty much just started with a lighter goldish color all over the lid, and then a orangey bronze blended from the crease up.

I used a very light shimmery tan color to highlight and in my tear ducts.

I used a reddish bronze color for my brow bone and blended up.

In my crease I used a dark shimmery reddish brown and blended.

On the bottom I went from my outer corner to my inner corner going dark to light.

For both the top and waterline I used creme liner and then applied mascara.

I used Urban Decay primer potion at the beginning and Urban Decay Setting Spray at the end.

My 10 favorite Lip Products!

1. Estee Lauder Long Lasting Lipstick in #48 Hot kiss.

2. Clinique Long Last Soft Shine Lipstick in Bamboo Pink. I love the slight shine and shimmer in this one.

3. Clinique Different Lipstick in Sweet Honey.

4. Clinique Different Lipstick in Angel Red. I love red lipsticks, and this shade is great.

5. Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in #18 Bois De Rose.

6. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in #001 Nude Attitude. I love putting a little bit of this matte color on.

7. Buxom Pluming Lipgloss, unfortunately I have no idea what kind. I love this gloss because the color is sheer and shiny, and it gives the perfect amount of plump to your lips.

8. Sephora Lip Liner in #20 Real Red.

9. Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Barcelona. I love this creamy matte lip crayon. Also plumps your lips just a little, the perfect amount. I love all of buxom’s lip products.

10. e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in # 11004 nearly nude.

I have always been very picky about my lip products as you can tell. I may buy shadows and liners at the dollar store but never my lip products. I have never bought an expensive nude lip color because I use those far less often which is why I bought one from Revlon and one from e.l.f. and they work fairly well.

A way better quality picture of today’s makeup. Glittery white all over the lid, and a highlight, and tearduct. Shimmery black in the crease and dark grey blended up and underneath the eye. Urban Decay’s “Toasted” from the naked palette is blended above the crease to the browbone. I used e.l.f. cream eyeliner on the top lid and waterline, winged out on top and bottom. For mascara I used Covergirl lashblast length mascara as a base to seperate the lashes on top and bottom, L’oreal ultra volume collagen mascara on top, Maybelline Turbo mascara on top and bottom, and Sephora brand Outrageous volume mascara on the top to finish it off. Also a coat of Urban Decay primer potion underneath everything.

Well, I originally just went here for an eyeliner sharpener since I lost mine. I ended up spending $3.

Here we have the eyeliner sharpener which works fine just like it should. It came with 2 L.A. colors eyeliner/brow pencil in black. I also got an N.Y.C. blushable creme stick in the shade South. St. Seashell and an eyeshadow palette which has no information on it.

Here we have the L.A. colors eyeliner/brow pencil. Obviously for 50 cents each the quality is not going to be great. I would probably only use this if I was out of my way better eye pencil. However it was nice how easily it smudged so if I ever need smudgeable black eyeliner I will grab this out of my makeup box.

Here is the N.Y.C. blushable creme stick. I tried it on my arm, paper, and my sister’s face. In the picture it seems more bronzey but on skin it looks bronze/peachy coral. It blends really nicely and goes on smooth, I am usually content with N.Y.C. products as far as cheap drugstore brands go. I may end up just using it as a creme bronzer and it would be really convenient on the go.

Here we have the eyeshadow palette. I threw away the packaging because I expected it to have a label on it, but nope:( Anyway I find that most dollar stores everywhere have the same thing at the same time, so this should be fairly easy to find if you are interested. Anyway if I bought this from ulta, sephora etc. I would be very disappointed. However I did buy it at the dollar store for a whopping one dollar (obviously). These are surprisingly pigmented for how much I paid. Of course they are nothing special but better than I expected. I’m sure if I use some Urban Decay primer potion first these shadows will turn out wonderful. I also love the colors, at least the ones on the left and the middle. I’ve never been a fan of yellow or green eyeshadows such as the ones on the right. I bought this particular palette because I have always been drawn to shimmery bronze and neutral colored shadows, and I like the colors here. Very nice palette for a dollar. I will let you know how they work once I apply them to my face!

my makeup today. kind of a smokey eye with white on the lid and pink above the crease. also double winged, i absolutely love this look.
