I am terribly sorry that I haven’t posted anything. As I said before my computer mic was broken so I couldn’t make a video tutorial, but now my computer won’t work at all! Anyway I should be getting it fixed soon so I can continue on with this blog, otherwise you may not see me for awhile but I will do my best. Please bear with me, thank you and I love you guys!
Okay, I firmly believe that the dollar store is not all bad. Their makeup is the low of low end makeup but sometimes you can find a hidden gem. And if you don’t, you only wasted a dollar and can return it anyway. For me, I keep the stuff and find something useful for it later. That’s why I keep posting about my trips to the dollar store. I understand that this may be of no help to you guys, but i am on a super budget right now as i am moving in a couple days. Tomorrow and Wednesday I will probably go buy some more makeup from nicer places as a treat. But for now, here is what I picked up:
Just disreguard everything but the makeup items. I am happy about the sponges though, I have used that brand before and they are decent. The three lip products I got from different places, the gloss from sally’s and the lipsticks from CVS.
So here I have some swatches and reviews for you guys. First I did swatches of the L.A. Colors 3 color eyeshadow palette in Lily. It was white, grey, and black, ideally I would use it for a quick and easy smokey eye. This palette was probably my favorite of the 4 L.A. Color palettes that I bought today.
So, obviously the colors aren’t very pigmented. I would definitely use it one day and I’m sure with some Urban Decay Primer Potion it will turn out. I will use it tomorrow and let you guys know.
Next I tried the L.A. Colors 12 color eyeshadow palette in Urban.
As you can see, they are not pigmented at all and barely showed up. This particular palette is very subtle but I know I can make use of it somehow, like on people who prefer lighter makeup.
Next I did swatches of L.A. Colors 12 color eyeshadow palette in Supernatural
This one showed up a lot more, a little bit more pigmented. I will definitely end up using this on my blue eye makeup days:)
Next I did swatches of L.A. Colors 12 color eyeshadow palette in Glamorous.
This one also showed up okay. Again, not very pigmented, but it would work better with some eyeshadow primer and I will probably use it. Out of the three of the 12 colored palettes I will probably end up using glamorous and supernatural sometimes and rarely use the urban.
Next I bought another of the dollar store eyeshadow palettes with no information. I have another that I bought a few days ago if you saw my post. I bought one with different colors today. These are very shimmery eye shadows and I rather like the selection of colors.
These also show up okay. I am content with it for only one dollar, I like how many colors it comes with.
I bought 4 L.A. Colors shimmering loose eyeshadows in white, pink, goldish-copper, and black.
I like these. I have had them before and they work fine for me. I often use the white one for my tear duct if I want something really bright and shimmery. I will try the other colors soon and let you guys know what I think.
After the dollar store I headed over to sally’s because I have never bought makeup there and I wanted to check out their selection. I ended up in the clearance since I am drawn to great deals. I found an orange lipgloss and I have always wanted to try orange just for fun. It was the only orange I had but after trying it on I am not very happy with the color. I will find some use for it but I am gonna buy a lighter orange one day. The brand and shade was Real Colors Lip Fury Plumping gloss in ‘Turn the other chic’
Also, the picture really doesn’t do it justice. It is more orange than that, but you get the idea. One thing I will say is that it is a very pigmented gloss. I was a little but worried that it would be a sheer orange, but it came out nice and bright.
Next I headed over to CVS. I browsed and ended up at wet n’ wild. I love their colors, always have. After buying the orange gloss I decided to buy more lip products since I really need more in my makeup collection. First one I tried on was wet n’ wild megalast lip color in 901B
Ends tomorrow night I think? So hurry up! Shipping is also free after a certain point.
I used the code and if you look at my last post I bought 4 big palettes for $59.45! It was such a steal!!! Especially since e.l.f. is pretty decent quality for what you pay. Honestly, I prefer them to a lot of other drugstore brands such as maybelline, revlon, and wet n’ wild.
Anyway remember the code is EDC2. only for studio line though.

Here is the whole thing, completely organized. I also cleaned out and got rid of some stuff, it seems like so much less.
Here is the top, from left to right:
all of my eyeshadow brushes + a foundation brush & concealer brushes, my little foam shadow applicators, cotton swabs and cotton balls, a mini face brush, face sponges, face brushes for powder, blush, bronzer, etc.
In the front I have all of my mascaras (I am crazy for mascara), in the back left i have all of my liners, in the back right all of my lipsticks, glosses, etc.
Miscellaneous. I have nail files, brush cleaner, baby powder, makeup remover pads and liquid, setting spray, nail polish, bathsalts (actual bathsalts for a bath), and more. this drawer is pretty much for anything that is not categorized.
eyeshadow, and nothing else. everything from my naked palette to my cheap L.A. colors. yup.
Last but not least, fourth drawer:
face. foundation, blush, bronzer, concealer, primer, moisturizer, tinted moisturizer, etc. lots of random goodies in here..
Well there you have it! A little bit more organized than before but I am moving in a few days so once I get settled in and get some money together I am going to treat myself to some new makeup, and a new place to put that new makeup.
Thanks guys. I know it’s not a lot, but it’s a start. And all 17 of you make me really happy.
This is why I hate making a new blog, because it is so hard to start but i’m determined with this one!
Anyway I hope you enjoy my blog and please stick around since I am just starting to get it up and running.
Well, I originally just went here for an eyeliner sharpener since I lost mine. I ended up spending $3.
Here we have the eyeliner sharpener which works fine just like it should. It came with 2 L.A. colors eyeliner/brow pencil in black. I also got an N.Y.C. blushable creme stick in the shade South. St. Seashell and an eyeshadow palette which has no information on it.
Here we have the L.A. colors eyeliner/brow pencil. Obviously for 50 cents each the quality is not going to be great. I would probably only use this if I was out of my way better eye pencil. However it was nice how easily it smudged so if I ever need smudgeable black eyeliner I will grab this out of my makeup box.
Here is the N.Y.C. blushable creme stick. I tried it on my arm, paper, and my sister’s face. In the picture it seems more bronzey but on skin it looks bronze/peachy coral. It blends really nicely and goes on smooth, I am usually content with N.Y.C. products as far as cheap drugstore brands go. I may end up just using it as a creme bronzer and it would be really convenient on the go.
Here we have the eyeshadow palette. I threw away the packaging because I expected it to have a label on it, but nope:( Anyway I find that most dollar stores everywhere have the same thing at the same time, so this should be fairly easy to find if you are interested. Anyway if I bought this from ulta, sephora etc. I would be very disappointed. However I did buy it at the dollar store for a whopping one dollar (obviously). These are surprisingly pigmented for how much I paid. Of course they are nothing special but better than I expected. I’m sure if I use some Urban Decay primer potion first these shadows will turn out wonderful. I also love the colors, at least the ones on the left and the middle. I’ve never been a fan of yellow or green eyeshadows such as the ones on the right. I bought this particular palette because I have always been drawn to shimmery bronze and neutral colored shadows, and I like the colors here. Very nice palette for a dollar. I will let you know how they work once I apply them to my face!
